Chair massage: It typically focuses on key tension areas in the back, neck, shoulders and arms. The practitioner performs the massage while the client is in a specially designed ergonomic massage chair. This “on-site massage” is convenient for both the practitioner and client, since there is little preparation & clean-up. Most people know about the service as a corporate massage service; however, it has become popular with everyone because of its instant relaxation benefits. One of the key benefits of chair massage is that it performed over the clothing and is easily accessible. Many people feel uncomfortable getting undressed for some of the massages that are done on a massage table. With chair massage, people can avoid the discomfort and awkwardness that they may feel in having to disrobe. These benefits make chair massage safe and convenient. It’s no wonder that more people are introduced to massage through chair massage than through any other massage technique.
Deep tissue massage: is a type of massage that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders. Some of the same strokes are used as classic massage, but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain. When there is chronic muscle tension or injury, there are usually adhesions (bands of painful, rigid tissue) in muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Adhesions can block circulation and cause pain, limited movement, and inflammation. Deep tissue massage works by physically breaking down these adhesions to relieve pain and restore normal movement. To do this, the practitioner often uses direct deep pressure or friction applied across the grain of the muscles. At certain points during the massage, most people find there is usually some discomfort and pain. It is important to tell the massage therapist when things hurt and if any soreness or pain you experience is outside your comfort range. There is usually some stiffness or pain after a deep tissue massage, but it should subside within a couple of days or so. The practitioner may recommend applying ice to the area after the massage or even taking certain supplements to aid in the healing process. Drinking plenty of water for the next 2 days afterwards is essential for deep tissue massage.
Hot stone: The hot stones are usually made from basalt stones, either river or lava stones because they retain heat very well. River rocks are normally used because they are so smooth – they have been smoothed over time by the river’s current. The stones are immersed in water and heated until they are within a comfortable temperature range. The stones are used to glide along the body using special techniques. The stones may be placed at specific points along the back and placed in the palms of the hand or soles of the feet or at times between the toes. The heat warms and relaxes the muscles. The warmth of the hot stones improves circulation and calms the nervous system. This helps to bring balance to the body and mind. Many people find the warmth of the hot stones to be very comforting & relaxing. After having a hot stone massage, they may even prefer receiving it to the traditional massage. Hot stone massage is suited to people who tend to feel chilly or who have cold feet. It’s also suited for people who have muscle tension but prefer a more gentle massage. The heat relaxes muscles, allowing the practitioner to work the muscles without using deep pressure.

During a
Relaxation Massage Session, the client will lie on a massage table, with a thin sheet draped over the body. A Relaxation massage is a gentle massage with light to moderate pressure. The massage takes place in a quiet, comforting environment, with music &/or candlelight in the background. The practitioner gently manipulates the tissue to promote relaxation. It is not a deep tissue massage. It is not designed for working the deeper muscles of the body, but just a gentle kneading and rubbing of the outer layers of the body tissue. It will cover a wide range of areas on the body including the back, legs, arms and neck if desired. The Relaxation Massage can performed while the client is wearing comfortable clothing or without clothes on while a draped sheet is draped over them. This will depend on the techniques used by the individual practitioner or preference of the client.
