| FEATURED SCULPTORS Gus Galbraith … Sculptor Growing up in South Porcupine, Ontario, Gus began a wide range of experiences throughout boyhood and onward; and through the complexity of life events began a journey that would take him through diverse careers and circumstances. A trip to Paris in his student days in Europe was his first meaningful exposure to the world of art. With his love of nature and his enduring passion for wildlife, Gus began sculpting in the late 70’s. Gus works with wood, metal, clay and bronze in his studio on the Cowichan River. Moving to the west coast in 1978, Sonia furthered her artistic education by attending Ceramic and Sculpture classes at Nanaimo’s Malaspina College. Never limited by medium or subject, her works include a broad array of intricate masks, sculptures in clay, steatite and alabaster … combined with her flair as an innovative and adventurous glazier, her creations depict a sophisticated harmony with nature.
